The 8th Grade Trip!

A few weeks ago was the 8th grade trip! Pretty fun, pretty fun! We were the first of the 21 trips Mr.Southern, the director, went on that saw 2 blue whales, dolphins, and sea lions! Or at least that's what he said...But Mr.Southern also liked to prank our room of 5 girls. He told us some rules that we had to follow, such as not talking to people we didn't know...and we all had a teacher who was in charge of us, who he called our "mother for the week" and all of her "children" including my room and another room, broke a rule...but of course he was kidding and it was really our "mother" Mrs.Gordon who was talking to strangers! Another time, he called just my room out of the bus and said there were complaints of our room being really loud...which was actually true because we had a pillow fight, a sword fight, and were jumping on the beds the night before. He told us the first thing we had to do was to apologize to the people we disturbed, then we had to pack up all of our stuff and move it into Mrs.Gordon's room. And Mrs.Gordon had no idea that this wasn't real and she   looked about to cry as she yelled, "No! Please, no!" Then Mr.Southern said, "But before we do those things, what were you guys doing last night?" And we all looked at each other... then one girl said, "Well, we did have a pillow fight..." Then Mrs.Gordon said, "You're gonna get so much out of these girls." Then Mr.Southern said, "You guys really aren't in trouble, you just had the best scavenger hunt answers." from the first day when we had a scavenger hunt at the museum we went to. And he handed us all $5. So, that was a life lesson...never believe a teacher.

Day 1-Saturday, June 5
We left the middle school at 10:30 and headed to the museum in Utah. Where we had a scavenger hunt, and my room had the best answers! Then we have sack lunches and sleep on the bus all night. Some girl thought the floor mas more comfortable, like me. I slept on the floor, it was hard to sleep with the blue lights under every seat shining in your eyes!!!

Day 2-Sunday, June 6
Wake up at 3 A.M. to see the Las Vegas light! Go back to sleep... Have breakfast at McDonalds then arrive at Sea World! And had a fun, hot day! Not to mention a terribly expensive lunch! And then at 5:30 we board back on the buses and head for Belmont Park to ride the historic Giant Dipper Roller Coaster. But of course that was all we did. We weren't even allowed to go to the restroom in fear that we would get killed/mugged/kidnapped! Then we re board the buses and head for our first hotel The Mission Valley Resort. Which I must saw, wasn't the best...then walked over ti Ricky's Family Restaurant where we preordered our meal. I chose the chicken salad but they didn't tell me, that it wasn't  a salad, it was a salad made into a sandwich. Quite gross. But I'm glad I was in the first group of kids, because we got done at about 9 P.M.! So the second group must have been very hungry! Then we walk back to the hotel and sleep 5 girls in our tiny room! Fun, eh!

Day 3-Monday, June 7
Head off to the San Diego Zoo! Where we saw lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh my! We went on a tour of the whole place, then souvenir hunting. And again, another expensive meal. :( My group also got a behind the scenes tour of the giraffes, and the baby the mom giraffe had recently had, and then we went to the llama exhibit where we got to pet them, what a hoot! :D Then we got back on the buses and drove to Anaheim to the Best Western Buena Park, our hotel for the next 3 nights! Then depart for Shakey's Pizza, which was an all you can eat pizza place with an arcade.

Day 4-Tuesday, June 8
Wake up to a continental breakfast then head out to the Orange County Marine Institute. We walked along the rocky shore and found that the tide was high once all of our shoes were soaked. Even if you were standing on a high rock, you would get wet! Then we headed back to the institute where we had lunch! Then we had some recess time so my friend Taneesha and I ran through the water because it felt to nice. Haha. Even though our shoes were very wet afterwards. Then we were the first group in the boat and we saw 2 blue whales! And a nice little group of dolphins! :) They said this was one of the only times in 21 years that they saw a whale! Then we switched groups and we got to do experiments, oh and don't forget how we got to dissect a fish that was being eaten away by parasites when it died. Then we drove back to our hotel and got ready to go to Medieval Times! We were the blue team and he lost. But it was still fun! Following that, there was a dance party and there was this extremely odd young couple trying to start a dance off with our school. But of course we had a break dancer and a dancer in our school so after the dancer did a bunch of flips, the break dancer did a bunch of break dancey moves and taught the odd couple a lesson.

Day 5-Wednesday, June 9
Woke up again to a continental breakfast then off to Universal Studios! We got there then went on the Studio Tour, which was pretty cool! Then we got to go on rides such as: Revenge of the Mummy, (my favorite ride!), House of Horrors, (way too many Chucky dolls...), Jurassic Park, (Dinosaurs popping out of nowwhere!!), and a few others! That was pretty fun! But there were signs that said "Welcome Amway China". So every place you looked there were Chinese people.

Day 6-Thursday, June 10
Arrive at Disneyland at 8 A.M. then head go on rides all day, such as; Indiana Jones,
It's a Small World After All, which I tricked my friends into going on just to see their bored/scared faces! ha ha. Then of course we have to eat extremely expensive meals. Then shop for souvenirs. Which was pretty fun because Disneyland has very cute things :)! Then check in with "parents" at 7 then weird parade about volunteers...it was magical. Then drive all night. But hey! I got a seat! Not the floor like before! :D So that's an up!!! But it was still not at all comfortable, but better than before!

Day 7-Friday, June 11
Finally arrive home about 4 P.M. after a long day of McDonalds for breakfast and lunch. Then go home, and sleep for the rest of the day. But all in all, a very fun week!! :D
